Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is well-known American actress. She's appeared in many films and TV series, including "Christy", a comedy about a teenage girl named Christy Huddleston. Her other notable roles include being the main character in the 'Hailey Dean Mystery' series. Born to a department-store buyer and a kindergarten teacher, Martin was able to begin her career in acting when she was just seven when her aunt, who was an nanny to Michael Landon's children was able to help her get a guest spot in the 1982 show "Father Murphy". She began acting professionally after graduating Yale University. This led to her being offered major part-time roles in the TV and film industry. Martin as well as being an actor, is also a skilled photographer and dancer. A mother of two, Martin is the spokesperson for the nation for Lupus and is constantly raising awareness about the condition after her sister passed away at the age of 19.
